An Evening Of Storytelling

What is your story?

We invite you to join us on Friday, June 14th for an evening of Storytelling. Featuring four Storytellers beginning at 7 PM.

The idea is to give a platform to four storytellers from a different background to share their stories and personal memories with the audience and engaging with the local community.

Storytellers:

Brian De Lord has undertaken a number of diverse roles in the education and social care fields. He has worked in the public and voluntary sectors ranging from practitioner to academic. He has built up an extensive portfolio of research and advocacy projects funded and published by the European Commission, He now runs Double Helix Resources, focusing on providing training and resources for practitioners and vulnerable families

Laura Thomas is a radio and podcast producer for the BBC. She writes short stories, many of them about teenage girls, and is currently working on a novel.

Elizabeth McFarlane is an award-winning writer, television director, and journalist, who has published articles in the national press and now writes and directs educational and marketing videos. She’s studying for an MA in Creative Writing at Goldsmiths and lives in south London with her husband and three sons. This is an extract from her first novel.

Freddy Macha is a London based Tanzanian writer and multi-instrumentalist musician, Freddy Macha, was named among most influential artists of East Africa in the 2008 Bongo Celebrity Blog. Macha (pronounced “Matcha”) was among winners of the 1981 BBC Poetry Prize and 1996 Commonwealth short story runners up award. “Constipation” his second album of music, poetry and prose is available on Band Camp -as a download- and Amazon. His most well known Afro Jazz pop song, “Kilimanjaro”, locates his origins and threat of global warming.
