Photography workshop for Syrians

IMG_7420For two days, a group of Syrian participated in a photography workshop organised by Hikayetna project and run by British photographer Kate Stanworth to gain technical training in photography, take better photos, and visual storytelling.

The sessions took place on the 3rd and the 17th of November 2018 at the Pavilion in North Acton.

In between those two dates, participants created their own photo essays and brought it to the second session for examination by Kate. The results were startling with brilliant photo essays that touched on the daily lives of Syrians who took part, their loved ones or even a falafel shop.

“The course also aims to incorporate cultural exchange and will show how photography can communicate across cultures,” Kate said.
